Super Mysterious Black Dude

Well, since we have such a wonderfull forum on internet I think I can start publishing my project here .

Im doing a Super Metroid rom hack about MBD and hes epic quest on planet zebes there he want to save hes cute metroid.
The project itself is far away from finished, but I'm working with it everyday and hope the game will be remembered .

it is a bit outdated since Ive done many improvements since I captured it.

Looks quite nice!

Maybe if you modified MBD's sprite a bit more so it doesn't look like Samus.

Rember to add music, that's what I didn't like about Metroid Redemption.

Since this is my first S M I L E Project I't wont be a master hack. But that doesn't mean it won't be good .
I can already see how my skills increase for each room. and I hope that the feeling of Deja vu will stop appear in later rooms .


I dont think I will change the sprite it self. But I will try to found a way to change music.

Awesome. If I could draw I'd be more than welcome to help you do the custom sprites but I can't draw let alone hack.

I saw your link on PM. But I haven't checked it out yet. Changing sprites is not the esiest in a rom hack. and when you're using tools as S.M.I.L.E (Super Metroid Interactic Level Editor) you are limited. but if it is a not a to complicated way I will see what I can do.

Hey, recolors aren't a terrible thing and what if he isn't that good at spriting?

If you don't have any positive feedback, please show him how he can improve or don't say it at all.

he's supposed to be good at spriting.one who's not good at spriting should only change places of the things to alternate a map, noone should recolor.thats disrespectful.

I know how to take Feedback, both posetive and negative. But I wont listen to anyone who says "you just recolored samus? cmon dude..."
No one will listen to that ever. If you want to give feedback and ideas you should (In my opinion, I dont want to tell you what to do, since that isnt my way to go) write something like "It would be good/awesome/better/ if you made a whole new sprite.

Something like that is what people often listen to.

One big problem atm thou.
I formated the computer some days ago and moved all to an external harddrive. and there is the project atm. ant that harddrive is far away from me atm.
